If you are vertically challenged like I am, then you probably already know how the frustration feels. I’m not only talking about when someone has to lift you up or you have to use a step stool in order to reach something up high. I am also talking about when the taller people in your life start calling you “fun sized”. This may be an Americanized term, but if you know some variation of it, then you know what I mean. The goal of these articles is to provide us short people with ways to be able to reach our growth potential without having to break our backs in heels or extend our spines to the point we look like weird giraffes. Here are a few simple exercises that can help you grow just that little bit taller.
One of the things you must do with these exercises though is have a strong mind. You need to devote your time to these activities, and more importantly you cannot quit. The first exercise is one I like to call “the cat stretch” when you wake up and before you go to bed all you need to do is stretch your finger tips and your toes to their max while you lay in bed.
(Note: These starter exercises should only take 15 minutes and you need to always pair them with body conditioning workouts)
This next exercise might be a little more difficult for those of us that are a little less coordinated. If you remember how to do the bicycle exercise, then this should help. If not, get yourself positioned in your bed because that is where you will be doing this. While you lay in bed, place your hands on your hips as you lift your lower back into the air. Your weight should be all on your upper back and shoulders. Now that your feet are in the air rotate your legs like you are using a bicycle.
Your next exercise is also done in bed. Basically all you are doing for this activity is rotating your head in all directions and then once you are done that you need to do it in the opposite directions.
This next set of exercises you might remember from elementary or high school. For this one you need to stand up. So get off that bed and on your feet! Now that your feet are firmly planted on the floor it is time to rotate your arms in both directions. Don’t give in when you feel the burn though, because trust me, you will definitely feel it.
You should be aware that it might take some time until you first notice the results from exercises and so, if you want to enjoy immediate results a great alternative to exercises are elevator shoes, and you can read more about the best elevator shoes right here.
